Lucian Ercolani, the founder of Ercol in 1920, developed and designed the original pieces in the Windsor collection in the mid 1950's. He took the simple aesthetic and use of solid timbers to create dining tables and cabinets that are functional and unpretentious. Tremendous craftsmanship is apparent throughout this minimalist yet elegant furniture. This collection is made in Ercol's Buckinghamshire factory by skilled craftsman using the latest technology combined with hand craft. As such, these cabinets have the beauty of displayed dovetail joints and iconic oval wooden handles.
A significant part of this collection is the Windsor Dining Chair. It's a classic design, crafted from solid ash timber. The steam-bent back rail forms an elegant a clean-lined profile, whilst offering comfort and style. Finished in a wide choice of pale or dark wood finishes, this chair is a versatile piece of furniture.
